My thoughts on weddings

Since I am on this subject on wedding… let’s talk a little more about it.

Planning for a big day like this can be a daunting task for some. The excitement and anxieties are obvious, the venue needs to be confirmed, gown and all accessories to take care of, guests’ list, catering, bridal showers, wedding bands, honeymoon, a new house… alot of couples end up getting a ‘wedding loan’ to settle these expenses.

It is common for newly wed couples to apply for a homeowner loan as they plan to have a new home together and with heavy expenses leading up to the big day, debt consolidation is the next common practice. Some resort to borrowing from family and friends, and others take up personal loans. But personally, I believe it’s better to keep the wedding simple and not end up with too much debts. A wedding day is a special occasion which should be enjoyed, treasured and cherished. I wouldn’t want to end up getting stressed with paying off a lavished wedding, it’s afterall the special moments that matter.

Or better still, take a simple vacation wedding, then you don’t have to worry too much about these big expenses. Otherwise, keep things simple, do your research and spend wisely, then you won’t end up with financial troubles after the wedding.
