How old were you when you have first own a credit card? Can you recall? For me, I remembered the excitement and exuberation when I turned 21 long time ago and was greeted with the approval of my first credit card. That was a credit card from Citibank and I still have it til today!

At that time, owning credit cards spelt prestige and class. It felt good to flash my credit card when I went shopping or travelled overseas. It wasn’t so easy to qualify for a card either so having a card also signified success. At that time, we didn’t compare credit cards like now. We didn;t care about cash back credit cards or rewards program. But these days, having a credit card means alot more to people. It means the flexibility to borrow, to spend and to accumulate; it means convenience too. Having a credit card means you can make purchase online too.
