walk through detectors in shopping malls
I recalled visiting a shopping mall in Australia many years ago and had an interesting experience of having to walk through metal detectors as there had been several bomb threats and other terrorists scares at that time. Though I expect to see those metal detectors which are likened to X-ray and Gamma-ray screening in night entertainment places, schools, government agencies or embassies, or airports, I believe they were necessary to control certain safety situations. Rapiscan Systems were the people who designed, manufactured these walk-throughs and hand held metal detectors you noticed from time to time and it looked this was a specialized industry. Usually, I wouldn’t bother about things like these but it was just one of rare occasions.
