LUMEDIA - my personal review
“THE BEST SOLUTION FOR SUPER-STUBBORN AGE SPOTS”
This was what I read when I strolled past a cosmetics counter in Tangs Store Singapore few months ago. And for someone who had been troubled over the brown spots and freckles that were becoming more prominent and obvious, I stopped at the counter to find out more about the product.
So what is this product that promises to ‘erase’ those dark hyperpigmented spots on my face? It is Lumedia, a new ’skin lightener’ for serious hyperpigmented age spots, melasma, and freckles in a short period of time.
I was almost convinced that those small brown spots close to my eye area will be gone in that ’short few weeks’ but I was still hesitant as the small black bottle of concentrated serum (30ml) did come with a price tag of close to S$200 ( I forgot the actual price :P). But after reading the product pamphlet on how the three powerful skin lighteners can dramatically reduce melanin concentrations (melanin causes dark spots) and inhibit tyrosinase activity (an enzyme that ultimately controls melanin production), I decided to give it a try.
Lumedia is easy to use. After cleansing and toning your face, brush and dab the serum gently on those targeted ’spotty’ or hyperpigmented areas using the small cottony tip and leave it to dry. After that, you can apply your usual moisturizer over the entire face. The serum has a light texture that dries quickly on the face in a couple of minutes. In order to see faster results, I followed the instructions conscientiously. I wasn’t going to see my investment go down the tube. I was eager to see some results especially on a stubborn hyperpigmented spot on the right side of my face.
After using the serum for a month, twice a day, morning and night, I was a little disappointed that those small brown spots were still as prominent as before, though I did noticed that a lighter and brighter skin tone on the entire area. As for the stubborn spot on the right side of my face, closer to the jawline, I could see very slight improvements though I was hoping that it would ‘disappear’! The 30ml could probably last for 6 weeks and if you have more pigmented spots, it may finish faster.
According to the product facts, Lumedia can be used on hands, neck or any part of the body with stubborn hyperpigmented dark spots. As a natural health advocate, I have always been taught that those age spots on the hands are signs of a liver cleansing. So what do I think of Lumedia? Personally, I believe that all beauty and skin care products work differently for every person since we don’t share the same hormones and genetics. If you can afford $90,(Get it for $87 at Strawberrynet.com) - Go for it! You just never know how it can work for you. But if $90 is too much to spend on skincare for you, don’t worry about it. For me, I’m trying out another new Whitening Essence recommended by a friend. As usual, I would report the outcomes after I finish in a couple of months’ time. If the Whitening Essence doesn’t work, I may try another bottle of Lumedia.
If you have tried other whitening or lightening serum or cream that works for you, drop me a comment here - I would love to hear

hi,
I have also pretty lots of brown pigmentations on my face specially under my eyes which make me look much older. I am 30 and have been trying a bunch of different lightening products even gone through 6 sessions of medical AHA and TCA peelings by dermatologist. But still no improvements!! The Products I have been using are
1.Lumedia: I also used a whole bottle for ca.3 months but it did really nothing although I tried to use it accurately and efficiently. I mean I cleansed twice a day deeply in order to ease the serumé absorbtion and supported by using Shiseido White Lucency night creme which I´ll explain on the next number. But my Comment as a really experinced one in whitening field is that it does not work and is not that much mony worth at all.
2- Shiseido White Lucency toner and night Creme:
Well, this does really do sth even on old and serious dark spots as mine. It brightens the whole face and makes the spot gradually less visible but the biggst Problem with it is that it is too rich and too oily. I have got a comb to oily skin but even for those having normal skin would be too much. In the morning when u wake uo u see a brighter skin but full off exess oil and very opened pores. It is good just for very dry skin.
3- Neo Strata: some various Products
4- Thio Spot spot Whitening Crem
5- La Roche Porsay Melda D creme and Vitamin C Serum.
6- Lancome Microdermabraision Kit with VitaminC Serum
7- Dr. Sebagh Essential Glow Creme Gel.
I will come later and write my reviews and experiments on these products and am still looking for the right product and not yet disappointed. I just wonder with all those revolutions and high tech components in skin care and beauty area why can´t we still see an effective product?!
I will be happy if u or anyone else would share the experience specially in the area of whitening products.
Cheers,
Nasim

In my youth I had troublesome skin and though it cleared up a while ago I was left with scars from lingering spots. I tried Lumedia for 3 weeks and it did reduce the scarring significantly. It also brightened my skin which gave me a younger glow. I find the best skin breghtener for me is Estee Lauder ‘Revelation’

Melasma is very stubborn and what works for one doesn’t work for the other. My feeling is that there’s no “magical” potion. Just a few expensive products that will work a little bit, at least until the next time you are out in the sun.
