buying on emotions
Ever bought a product after listening to an alluring, deep, warm, sincere and trusted voice? I had. Sometimes, I can be driving down the street with the radio playing and I’ll be hearing an exciting, energetic and compelling annoucement on a sale happening in a mall or the launch of an event. The voice calls for attention and triggers an action and often times, I will take note and respond. This is the effectiveness of good voice overs and it is such a skillful profession, no wonder they are called voice over talents.
People buy on emotional. We make decisions based on our emotions and experiences. I admit that I tend to make a purchase when I listen to a convincing voice on the TV commercial. Sometimes, I would be inspired to start a good cause after listening to a soft, touching and emotional voice talking about a charity event. Being in the design industry for some time, I know how important a good voice over talent can help to convey an advertising and marketing message. Naturally, our ears will ’switch off’ when we hear a boring voice over so I do believe that companies should engage professional and experienced voice over talents to spread that message to their consumers.
I just heard from the radio news that a new boutique has opened up this weekend and some attractive promotions are going on. I guess I’m going shopping again!

I had this issue, but it was with getting into a lease on a car. Just goes to show that buying on emotion may be fun, but can take a bite out of the wallet.
