maybe it’s time to curb spending habits
Yesterday afternoon, I read an article about how a fashion editor quit her profession after a long series of fashion indulgence in her years of work, only to realize that she had been so caught up with the Joneses and the material that people had labelled her as a fashion and materialistic gal. Being a fashion editor, she got lots of perks – luxury handbags, shoes, jewelry…etc – but after a while, friends were not admiring her possessions but questioning her on her values.
That made her rethink about her identity and if she like to go on life like this. From her writing, the world of materialism had caught up with many, including those who went overboard in their spending habits, so bad that they resort to payday loan and getting into financial debts. Then they start to learn how to curb spending habits and only to find that it takes lots of hard work to shake those material shackles off. Some people are stimulated with retail therapy which explains why they feel uncomfortable not buying something or not having what others had. So, do an attitude check, don’t be a material victim. If you need to curb spending habits by not stepping into the shops, do so.
