my review on Lumiere mineral makeup
My Lumiere mineral make up arrived last weekend. You should witness the gleam in my eyes… I was so eager to try them on! While I was still a newbie in mineral make up, I was careful to follow the Swirl, Tap, Buff rules. What I got in my surprise package were samples of a light warm Luminesse, a medium beige flawless foundation, a light med warm Veena Velvet, a flushed mineral blush, a hypnotic glitz and a spice rum Lumi lips.
Before having a go with the loose mineral foundation, I made sure I did all my research to know how each foundation differed from one another. My first application of the Luminesse, a soft and fine foundation that offered a light and even coverage. What I got was a smooth and glowing finish, not cakey or thick. In fact, it lived up to its name of being ‘luminous’. I really liked it. This is highly recommended for anyone who likes a natural look without worry about having too much powder on the face. I was surprised at how fine the foundation was. It was definitely covering better than my Le Clerc loose powder.
I moved on to dab a little mineral blush on my face, it was good that I dabbed the brush on the palm of my hands first. I recommend that any first timer does this. Dab the brush on your palm to remove any access powder, unless you have a jar big enough for the brush. The mineral blush was amazing! All I needed was a little buff on my cheeks and they just glowed in radiance! The shimmer was soft and natural. I must warn you not to overdo it or you might look like you needed a make up lesson! I could imagine how much blusher I would save from now on with mineral blush.
Last but not least, I finish off with the Spiced Rum Lumi lips sample that Kim graciously included… my, I was addicted to this one! The gloss was great on the lips and the colour was awesome. How did she know this colour will look so good on me? What I liked about it was that the colour and gloss stayed on the lips without feeling sticky and it felt smooth too, not over thick or shiny. I was in love with the texture.
If you haven’t visited Lumiere cosmetics webstore, then you don’t know what you are missing. I have not seen a mineral makeup so well stocked with so many choices of colours and formulas. For a start, I admit that I was a little lost. There are two types of mineral foundation - liquid and loose. And the loose ones have four different formulas - flawless, luminesse, veena velvet and cashmere. Each formula is made to suit your skin and lifestyle. Personally, I love the flawless and luminesse, and I have yet to try out my veena velvet.
Lumiere cosmetics has everything you need to create that natural and professional finish - mineral foundation, bronzers, blushers, finishing powders, lip glosses, eye make up, concealers and not forgetting the most important tools - brushes! Kim included a lovely synthetic Kabuki brush for me which felt so nice on the face. I cannot tell you how important a good brush can help you create that glow in a short time. It will help to avoid blotches or mess, as well as any unevenness. Check out the full range of brushes that are all affordably priced. Lumiere cosmetics is offering a PRE BUY BRUSH SALE right now, ending on 31 October 2007! This twice a year special sale offers you a savings of 50% off on most of the Lumiere brushes.
Do yourself a favour if you are big on eye shadow cos you will ‘wow’ at the eye colours - it’s like an artist’s palette of amazing hues!
What I look forward to try is the blushing bronzer, silk radiances and all over colour - the descriptions make me so curious! If you are unsure of what colours and what sort of mineral foundation to pick from, don’t worry as the webstore will you guide you through.
Lumiere ships FREE to anywhere in the US and a flat fee of $6 for international shipping. For more information and to order your Lumiere mineral makeup, go to http://www.lumierecosmetics.com.

I’m considering getting the Luminesse formula foundation. How do you like it? I have acne-prone skin and looking for foundation with coverage and staying power.
Thanks!
Luminesse is a good choice. You may like to ask for some sample shades before buying them in full size.
