While shopping for an electric mixer, I stumbled upon a cool culinary site – http://www.miamiculinary.com/ – which has an impressive web design with creative animated headers. This is no ordinary culinary school, it’s the renowned Le Cordon Bleu culinary arts school, the people who teach the fine skills of cooking and food preparation. Well, I don’t think I’ll be ready for any culinary school but I enjoy going for cooking and baking classes since I’m always curious abotu what makes a good butter cake and the secrets to delicious chocolate fondant.

Last week, I attended a baking class by Catherine Lau, a famous local cheesecake expert and was inspired to buy an stand mixer for my baking experiments. The Ktichenaid professional series look really cool. Then again, I better make sure it won’t end up being a white elephant in the kitchen
