what they say about kona
Since this is the first time we are taking a freestyle cruise, I have been reading cruise reviews contributed by real travelers. According to some of the reviews by cruisers on the Pride of America, they suggest to begin the trip in Kailua-Kona on the western side of the island during the Big Island port of call. Kona itself is a quaint little village in which you can enjoy a luau, fine dining, a picnic on the grass by the ocean and many small shops located along Alli Drive in downtown Kona. We are planning to rent a car and explore the island in a free and easy style since we are traveling with an unpredictable toddler.
do you like beach holidays?
Everyone loves beach holidays! The little ones can dig in the sand and splash in the lapping waves. The older ones can swim, get a tan, or just relax. The inquisitive types can explore for sea life, tide pools, and drift wood. The warm breezes and natural beauty are invigorating and restorative. Any trip, however, can cause discomfort if you do not plan well. Read more
how about a winter wonderland?
If you live in the tropics like me, you long for a winter wonderland experience at least once in your lifetime. All children enjoy a white Christmas and the fun of playing snow ball and building a snow man. I grew up watching those dreamy and Christmassy shows of snow bells, Christmas lights, glittering trees and colourful presents. Read more
we are going on a cruise!
So we are booked for a 7-day Hawaii cruise and you can imagine our excitement since DH and myself have never been on a cruise in our lives! Nowadays, cruises are available to anyone and finding information about cruises can easily be done by either researching it yourself or by going through a travel agency.
so much to do, so little time
Lately, I have been carrying my Hawaii travel guide in my handbag. I’ll pull it out while waiting for DH in the car or while having lunch by myself in a sidewalk. Since we are less than two months from our family vacation, I thought I’d better gather as much information as I could before the trip. After looking through so many Kauai vacation rentals and others, I only wish we can extend our trip and spend few nights in this lovely island. The information at the Kauai travel blog makes me want to cancel the cruise and do our own free and easy island hopping but somehow, it isn’t easy when we are traveling with a toddler
You don’t have to worry about what to do in Kauai. Pick up a surfing lesson, book yourself for a snorkel, laze around one of the many beaches or go shopping in the local boutiques and if you have abit more budget, enjoy a helicopter flight experience with your family. With so much to do but so little time, we need to be selective and not try to squeeze in everything.
The planning continues…
