more ladies’ boutiques added to the retail scene
Lately there are a big increase in ladies’ boutiques opening up in new shoplots and trendy places in KL and PJ. Most of these boutiques are operated by entrepreneurs and ladies who want to ride on the retail hype in women’s fashion. I spoke to many of them whenever I got the chance and found out that most of the clothings and accessories were imported from Bangkok, Korea, Hong Kong and even India.
My friend’s sister jumped onto the bandwagon and partnered with three girl friends to start a ladies’ boutique in Bangsar few months ago. All I can say is retail business is tough. They managed to get a set of used point of sale equipment for their little boutique, after checking out on few others like the ibm pos equipment and Fujitsu Point of Sale equipment ones. A reliable and advanced pos system can help to avoid any operation hiccups for the business.
Besides ensuring smooth technology back up for the business, the main focus is the stock that needs to be sourced and purchased during their monthly trips to the above neighbouring countries. In order to encourage more repeat customers to the shop, they need to constantly add new items since women like to stay current in fashion styles and trends. As for me, I still prefer to be a shopper than an owner, I don’t think I’m ready to handle the string of stress attached to the business ![]()
