review on Monave versatile mineral powders

When it comes to beauty, I must confess that I’m that sort who choose short-cuts and quick solutions to looking good. This explains why I’ve never been a liquid foundation user and my regular make up regime is always a quick dust of loose powder, bronzer, defining my eye brows (a must-must-must) and a shimmer on my lips. I don’t like to spend more than fifteen minutes in front of the mirror, inclusive toning and moisturizing my face. So when I first tried mineral makeup, I knew it was made for me.

I have Monave versatile mineral powder samples on my dressing table for the last few weeks and other than using the powders which can be used on the cheekers as blusher or bronzer, I have not touch the eye colours. Today is an exception. I decided to give the eye colours a try too and my… I think it is not stopping there!

Sharen was gracious to send me so many versatile mineral powder and to tell you the truth, I was kinda lost on choices, though it seemed a good thing to feel that way! It was like standing in a sumptuous buffet line, wondering what I should have on my plate or an artist who had all those gorgeous colours on the palette. But I can’t do what the artist does or I may become a Chinese opera singer!

Here are my favourites for the versatile mineral powders:

Sahara, Oasis, Vamp, Mamba made great blushers and bronzers. Just a dab on your cheeks and they will glow naturally in sheer elegance and style. I am not exaggerating! A little does go a looooong way so don’t be greedy! You want your face to glow with a sheer finish, not shimmering like a fashion model, unless you are preparing for a catwalk show. I believe these shades will look alluring when mixed with a clear lip gloss. Yes, you can make your own lip colour with these versatile mineral powders!

The green, gold and grey shades are ideal for eye liners or used as eye shadow but like I mentioned above, start a little at a time as the mineral powder is highly pigmented. Look out for Kasha, Mirage, Jinx, Envy ,Ivy and Hypnotic. I cannot tell you how beautiful the shimmer is unless you try it for yourself. My camera isn’t doing the makeup justice so the following photo is all I can do :P

The only thing I need to look into is a good eyeshadow applicator or brush. For now, I’m using a cotton bud for the eye application which is fine when applying colours on the lids but not for lining. So if you are looking for versatile mineral powders, please look at the fantastic colour palette at Monave, especially the ones from the sultry collection – I guarantee you’ll be stuck with choosing colours for a while so make sure the kettle is not boiling and your favourite show is not on.

Now, I’m adding one more step to my make up regime – put a little dab on the eyes! The next thing I wanna try is the natural mascara!
