Yesterday, we spent about three hours trying to convince a friend of ours that brand new laptops just don’t come equipped with the all things that most computers need in a PC. We tried to convince him that a fully functional computer is one that is personalized with specially selected hardware and software accessories – and that the computer purchased at the store doesn’t come with these things. But first, let’s understand what fused glass really is. From the website of Amy Burhoe, I gather that it is actually layers of glass melted together using a kiln which is a specialized type of oven. Many techniques can be used to alter the glass and the process can last anywhere from 6 to 24 hours! At the peak temperature (usually around 1475 degrees!) the glass is molten red. All I can say is I am totally melted away by some of the awesome colour combinations – they are just so pretty!
