health foods all around
It’s a wonderful thing that the highlight on health matters can now be seen in lifestyle magazines on the shelves. In the past, you can only find health foods and nutrition articles in health periodicals but not anymore. Just a while ago, I was just reading about tomatoes since they are an awesome cancer-fighting superfood. Not only do tomatoes contain lycopene, the antioxidant phytochemical that also helps prevent heart disease, but they’re a good source of vitamins A, C, and E, all which do battle against cancer-causing free radicals. Add them to your salad or use as a topping on your homemade pizza. They’re also a great way of adding some zest to your favorite sandwich.
Talking about antioxidants, there is much discussion about goji berries by nutritionists in the natural health circle. This humble reddish goji berry is said to be very high in antioxidants including 4 unique Polysaccharides. It is rich in nutrients and is helpful in boosting the body’s immune. I can recall my mom and granny using them in soups and desserts and I would be reminded of how the berries could help to improve my eyesight! It looks like my 80 year old granny sure knows a few things about natural health stuff.
