brief report on osaka
After three days in Tokyo and two days in Hakone and Izu, I got in to Osaka yesterday night after a 2 hours ride in the Shinkansen (bullet train) from Atami. It was an amazing experience for all of us, especially my four year old.
I have been told that Osaka is like Tokyo – busy and crowded with lots of skyscrapers towering one another. We are staying at the Swissotel Nankai Namba and I picked this hotel for its sheer convenience and location. It is located above the Namba train station and this makes it easy for us to move around easily since we’ll be traveling on the train at most times. A trip to Osaka is not complete is you don’t step foot into Shinsaibashi for great shopping and food. While dh’s looking forward to savor all the local delights, I can’t wait to shop the busy street of Shinsaibashi! This long street is sure to tire any shopaholic out! As for my DH, he has got his travel insurance covered so he’s eating anything authentic and interesting, not a bit worried about any health hiccups. After all, Japan is such a safe and clean place so we are least worried about cleanliness and hygiene.
I have been popping into any UNIQLO and MUJI shops I can find. I love shopping for local labels and if you are in Tokyo or Osaka, you must go shopping in these two great stores! I love the basics and clean lines of the apparel and best of all, the prices are reasonable. OK I won’t be posting very regularly due to limited internet access. I hope to do more shopping in Osaka city and Tokyo before heading to Hong Kong in a week’s time – I’m truly thankful to God for this family vacation!
