hard not to go shopping in singapore

It is hard not to go shopping whenever I’m back in Singapore.

I just got back from a short trip today and was recalling my brief shopping experience in Singapore. Compared to previous trip, this was a trip where I restrained myself from shopping in exclusive designer shops. And I was glad I succeeded :)

Here’s a shopping tip I like to share if you are petite or wear a size 6 or 8. Since we are all aware of the current economic situation, it is natural to think of ways to save when you go shopping. Of course the best way to save is not to go shopping! But if you find yourself needing a new piece of clothing, why not shop in the ‘girls’ department? These days, you can find girls’ sizes (size 11-12, 13- 14) from international brand stores like Zara and if you are petite, it is not hard to fit into the girls’ sizes.

I managed to pick up a knitted top, a couple of cute t-shirts and a floral blouse from Zara girls department and what I was happy about was that the girls’ clothing were cheaper. I don’t think most petite women can fit into the girls’ bottoms and for tops, go for size 11-12 or 13-14 and they should fit nicely.

I don’t know about you but it’s such a thrill to grab good buys when I go shopping. While having a quick brunch in Arcade at Raffles Place, I passed by Moo Moo Cow (next to a box cutter, a shop that carried branded goods direct from US outlet stores. At Moo Moo Cow, you get branded children’s clothing at discounted prices and you can find brand names such as Gap, Carters, Ralph Lauren, Osh Kosh and others. Depending on seasonal stocks, you can get pretty nice children’s stuff if your timing is right.

It really felt good to go shopping in Singapore again… it was liberating!
