Teenagers Go Shopping for Luxuries
Gone are the days where luxury handbags are owned by only the elite working class women. These days, when I go shopping in Orchard road or any urban cities in the world, I see youngsters, teenagers and even young kids carrying luxury bags. Many of them have bags that are more than the monthly paid of a salaried worker. The world is becoming more sophisticated, or should I say, ‘brand conscious’.
I did some online shopping every now and then at reebonz and popped by their facebook for some updates. I am surprised that many of the customers are between the age group of 18-25. Ten years ago, this age group won’t be able to own a LV bag or a Gucci but now, it’s common to see a young teenage with a few thousand dollars handbag. How do they afford these luxuries, I wonder. With so many brands to choose from such as Prada handbags. Miu Miu, Chloe, Marc Jacobs, TODs, LV, Fendi and much more, many of these teenagers own more than one luxury handbag.
While there is absolutely nothing wrong to own these luxuries, I hope that they will know the value of money when they go shopping. Or has it become so easy for these teenagers to get what they want easily from their parents.
