trendy pre-packed diaper bags
I gotta tell you that this is a fabulous idea. Many of us are used to seeing nice, cute, pretty, elegant, artistic, sassy, trendy diaper or mommy bags being sold in retail and online stores. But most of time, we buy these bags empty, do we? What I’m saying is that why aren’t there pre-packed diaper bags for sale? In other words, we can buy these diaper bags with all the baby essentials in the bag so that we don’t need to worry about forgetting the rattle during meal times, a bib, a sun hat or travel wipes?
Well, there is one such pre-packed diaper bag with 10 items, also known as BabyBeReady Diaper Bag Survival Kit. This idea was conceptualized by BabyDish Founder, Stacie Jordan who sees the niche and launched these pre-packed diaper bags with huge success. For those who still prefer to buy it empty or use it as a carry-all bag, you can still get it at $40 and the pre-packed version at $99. Here are some from BabyDish collection (babydish.com):
fine art auctions on the cruise
One of the ways to enhance the interiors of a house is to decorate it with a nice art painting that fits into the theme of your house. When we were sailing on the 7 day cruise in Hawaii, I was surprised to see that there was a mini art gallery in the ship, which added a touch of class and artistic flair to the reception area.
I believe there are cruise passengers who take interest in participating in an art auction while sailing on the seas. Companies such as Park West at Sea is one company that conducts art auctions in cruises and introducing these fine art paintings to people around the world. If you are looking for outstanding art paintings as gifts or for your own homes, Park West Art Gallery is the place to start your search.
handicrafts with tutorials
I was doing my usual research on shopping resources and stumbled upon the nice blog of Scribbit, a mom of four and has a craft store at Etsy. I got curious and hopped over to check out her handcrafted collections.
Scribbit makes her crafts and even jots them down into tutorials so you can learn to make them yourself. This sturdy tote was made from a standard rectangular placemat with solid wood beaded handles attached with grosgrain ribbon. You can check out the tutorial for making these fun handbags here at http://scribbit.blogspot.com/2007/07/placemat-purses.html. No one can refuse a handmade gift that is filled with a touch of love and care.

flower garland necklace from manic trout
All this while, I’ve always been interested in the works by indie artists and designers. Being a designer myself, I admire their passion to share their art with others and their enthusiasm to create and invent.
Here is another indie designer who specializes in handmade necklaces, bracelets, earrings and art paintings. I love the way this New York indie designer, Sierra, uses preserved real flowers set in resin in this flower garland style necklace. The glass blue faceted beads alternating with glass aqua beads compliment three large mums in orange, cream and pink don’t come cheap. You can take it home with you at $120 at the webstore of Sierra Bailey at manictrout.com.
