When Women Go Shopping and Indulge

Sometimes we women just love to indulge. We can go shopping all day in the mall and end up with loads of things or sometimes we just be just happy browsing and window shopping. And they also call this ‘retail therapy’.

For instance, our husbands or boyfriends may find it hard to understand why we need another pair of shoes or another tote bag. Why can’t we just stick to that same pair of sandals or same shoulder bag? I’m sure you have explained times and times again about different styles requiring different attire and accessories but still, they can’t seem to comprehend why we still need to go shopping for new shoes and bags.

So let’s get back to my earlier introductory statement on ‘indulgence’. Summer is here and you may feel like some simple indulgence on new beach flip flips or a new summer tote bag. Here are a couple of my online favorites:

1) Marc by Marc Jacobs Tote-ally Miss Marc

I have a couple of Marc by Marc Jacob bags and I have always like MJ for its simplicity, quality and modernity. Marc by Marc Jacob’s bags are rather affordable and you can always expect little surprises in every season. Here’s a review of the Marc by Marc Jacobs Tote-ally Miss Marc:

I’ve been dreaming of owning a Marc Jacobs bag for the longest time now. I own plenty of handbags and I have to say that this is one of my favorites! Although it’s only a fraction of the cost of my other bags, nothing matches Miss Marc’s whimsy and adorable outfits. The inside lining matches my MJ barette so that’s another plus. The only thing that you have to be cautious about is that it IS a natural canvas- so you have to baby it a bit more than you normally would. Also, Miss Marc is printed onto there so at some point- she will probably scuff off. I take exceptional care of my bags and sell handbags for a retailer so my bag is still in great condition. It’s definitely worth the extra care to own such a great bag though! I love it and wish I could own every single Miss Marc tote!

2) Women’s handbags: Orla Kiely Book Bag – Raspberry

I’ve always like Orla Kiely bags. Simple, functional, cheerful, chic and attractive. Their fabrics are unique and pretty, so nice that it’s hard to choose one from another. This cute Orla Kiely Book Bag is just the right color and style for bringing some ‘life’ and cheer to your workplace. Here’s a useful review that says more about the Orla Kiely Book Bag:

Great bag for walking to work!
This bag is larger than I expected, but that’s turned out to be a good thing. I’m using it on the days I have several things to carry to work: heels, food, wallet, phone, bottle of water and who knows what else. The bag is roomy enough to hold these things without being stuffed & bulky. I also like that it’s gotten me out of my purse + shopping bag full of stuff routine. I was worried about the handles since it seemed they should be a little longer, but it is not a problem at all. I’m small but can fit the handles over a medium coat without any problems.

So get ready this summer and start shopping for your beach wear and swim suits. I know some people are already working out in the gym to shed those extra pounds or trying out other weight loss methods like Decaslim. Above all, you may wanna go shopping for some good sunscreen to protect your skin from the sun’s harmful rays. Happy Indulging!

Go Shopping For Eco Bags

So Earth Day is over and I wonder if people still go shopping for eco friendly clothes, eco bags and eco living products for the home.

Sometimes the push to eco living is only temporal and stirred up by a fetish hype but I do hope that the awareness to green living is introduced to more people – young and old. Actually, you don’t have to be a die hard fan of eco living or convert everything in the house to be environmentally friendly. It is possible if you can afford and you are committed to an eco lifestyle but a little effort goes a long way.

Perhaps you are a fashion-conscious lady who is not so keen in those mass produced eco bags handed out free by your local grocery store. Well, why not go shopping for some nice looking eco friendly bags that are good for work, play and leisure. Eco bags are either made of organic or natural cotton, hemp or recycled fabrics/materials. These days, many eco bags are better designed than your branded bags or totes. You can use these eco totes for picnics, outings, travel, grocery shopping…etc. Bringing one of the following eco bags for your Vegas vacations are great for all your shopping buys, children’s snacks, travel knick-knacks, your personal belongings and more.

Here are few of my picks for cool and chic eco bags. You can also go shopping for more eco living products if a green lifestyle is what you seek this year.

1) Beau Soleil Beau USA

This is an organic denim sack in a classy grey color! The eco bag is contrasted by a bright Yellow rope handle and contains multiple exposed and hidden pockets. Made of Organic Denim in Asia.

Beau Soleil is known for its support towards sustainability, fair trade and labor, as well as organic raw materials. They seek to offer consumers environmentally healthy clothing choices without sacrificing fashion. Some of the fabrics used include sustainable bamboo, vegetable-dyed organic cottons, and tencel, which is created from eucalyptus trees. Recycled leather is used for the trims.

2) Sarah Donegan Grande Rose Bag

If you are looking for an eco overnight night that for travel or baby paraphernalia, look no further. A light and comfortable fit across the body, the bag has a large inner pocket and lined with opulent vintage textiles. Made in the UK.

Sarah Donegan’s ‘Ready To Wear’ collection covers a subtle range, featuring eco-kind hessian outer fabrics for every day. Various weights and weaves of textural, natural, jute hessian are washed or boiled, then hand dip dyed in soft, muted tones. As for the handles, crafted hard woods such as walnut, cherry and oak, which are recycled off cuts from local joiners are used.

go shopping for eco bags for a birthday gift

When I need to go shopping for a birthday gift for a close friend, I often like to choose a birthday gift that is practical and useful.

I was looking through some beautifully designed Eco Bags at ArtisanWorldMarket Eco Living Store and was impressed with some of the designs. I noticed that many departmental and retail stores are printing their own eco bags for their customers so you can’t say that being environmentally friendly is only for the elite group anymore.

Everyone of us can be eco friendly when we go shopping and one simple bag is to bring your own bag. You don’t need to get a Anya Hindmarch eco bag to look cool. How about this Beau Soleil cotton canvas Eco Bag that is great for carrying your everyday necessities while acting as a great reminder to Reduce, Recycle and Renew? This eco bag sure makes a great gift for the eco living friends of yours. Beau Soleil uses fabric made from sustainable bamboo, vegetable-dyed organic cottons, and tencel, which is created from eucalyptus trees and the trimmings are made from recycled leather. I know my close friend will fall in love with an eco friendly bag, just like how she would something as practical as a bottle of Solo Slim for her weight loss goals.

Well, while you go shopping for eco bags, you can also check out the wide range of eco living products including eco clothing, eco jewelry and organic bedding.

get eco on valentine’s day gifts

The month of hearts and love is here again. It’s time to go shopping for valentine’s day gifts.

After browsing around the web for unique gift ideas and other valentine’s day gift ideas, I came across some cool finds at UncommonGoods. This set of Sustainable Shopping Bags – Set of 3 caught my eye since I’m kinda addicted to eco friendly bags these days. I find these sustainable shopping bags very friendly, attractive and convenient. This set of three durable, water-resistant polyester bags can hold 2-3 bags of groceries and conveniently fold up to fit in your purse, car or pocket, so you’ll never be without them. Neatly packed in a travel pouch, they are designed by designer Anna Musgrove, who was inspired by her six-year-old’s kindergarten class. Maybe these sustainable shopping bags can encourage your Valentine (could be a close girl pal) a week without using paper or plastic bags!

got a new agnes b patent purple bag

When I was strolling along Omotesando hills in tokyo, I found myself so impressed with the designer stores facade and merchandise display. I walked into my favourite Camper store and Agnes B and I seriously wished I had a few hours to myself to shop. It wasn’t easy shopping with a preschooler and an impatient non-shopper hubby so I didn’t end up with any new bags or shoes.

Camper bags were tempting and I was disappointed that I couldn’t find it in Hong Kong! Then, I realized on my last day in Tokyo that I should have bought my Agnes B bag. But I managed to go shopping in Hong Kong (which I was more familiar) and got myself a Agnes B Voyage Purple patent bag. Though purple is never my best color but somehow, this limited Agnes B patent bag was hard to resist! I’m really glad I bought it cos it’s one colour that hasn’t made it to the Singapore Agnes B stores! Here’s a very weak picture of the bag but due to the reflective nature of pvc , it is hard to photograph it.

I find this bag so good for mothers who want to put all their children’s toys and feeding set, extra set of clothing and other stuff in there. And for ardent shoppers, you can simply stuff your shopping buys inside the bag and refuse plastic bags – that’s a great way to stay eco friendly!

So much of Agnes b, here’s wishing everyone here a blessed Christmas and many happy days ahead!
