Planning to Go Shopping for Digital Gadgets

In the last one hour, I have been trying hard to get my webcam to work. For whatever reason, it isn’t working and it’s frustrating me! It looks like I may have to go shopping for some digital gadgets tomorrow!

Though I’m no big digital gadget fan, I enjoy shopping around in computer stores, checking out what’s new in town. My latest gadget addition was the iPhone 3Gs and I’m loving every bit about it. It is so user-friendly and it’s hard to believe that it took me 2 years before I actually decide to buy it! After a few comparisons, I found out that Hong Kong has the best pricing for the iPhone when purchased without a plan. Couple of months ago, Singapore launched the iPhone in the open market, which means that you don’t need to buy it with a contract with any telco. Taiwan and Australia’s pricing for the iPhone in the open market is almost the same so if you don’t intend to purchase your iPhone with any data package, buy it in Hong Kong or Singapore.

My motorcycle accident lawyer friend just bought his 32 gb iPhone and he’s been busy loading it with all the productivity applications! Talking about apps, some of my friends can go shopping for apps everyday, it’s really amazing!

Well, so much about the iPhone, I’m considering buying one for my hubby on his next birthday. He’s not a fussy person when it comes to choosing a mobile phone but I know the iPhone will suit him so well cos it’s so friendly, efficient and smart!

i’ve got a new msi wind u100 charity!

I’ve joined one of those tech savvy individuals who were seen typing and chatting away with their netbooks in STarbucks or cafes during lunch time, tea time, dinner time or weekends.

Finally, after spending few weeks of reading netbooks reviews in the web and hours of web shopping, I’ve settled for a MSI Wind U100 Charity netbook. I’ve looked at Acer Aspire One, Asus Eee PC, Lenovo and Dell but the MSI Wind seems to be the most attractive in terms of value, features, performance and design. 6 cell batteries, Wireless N, lightweight, 10″ wide, clean and simple design – I know I’m going to like my new MSI Wind U100 Charity! $10 off $200 valid in our Computers, Software, Home Networking, Digital Cameras and Electronic Stores! exp 01/31/09

5 of 5 Still the best netbook for the price Thursday, January 15, 2009
A Customer from Phoenix, AZ

The BEST netbook in this category is the Samsung NC10, but you have to question if the additional features (longer battery life, better form factor, better manufacturer) are worth spending the extra two Benjamin Franklins. For me, it was an easy choice. It has the best support for alternative operating systems and a great active support forum on the web. Modern gaming lacks, but all other applications I’ve used have run flawlessly. Aftermarket parts (additional batteries, A/C adapters, external CD/DVD drives) are cheap on auction sites. My primary use is for internet and note-taking in a university setting.

5 of 5 Best compact laptop for the price Monday, January 05, 2009
A Customer from Gurnee, IL
I purchased this laptop for gift for my parents. This is the best compact laptop for the price ($285 after MIR). Slick design, lightweight, good battery life. There is no Bluetooth, but this is not a problem. You can buy the next model which comes with Bluetooth. Now my wife wants one too. :-)

create your own photo books, photo calendars and photo cards

In less than a month’s time, we’ll be heading for our family vacation in Japan and Hong Kong. I’m very excited to snap picturesque shots of Tokyo, the countryside of Hakone, ancient Kyoto and Osaka. As for Hong Kong, I’ll be geared up for some retail therapy and going easy on my shopping spree. My hubby always reminds me that times are bad!

For the first time, I’m lugging my Nikon D80 overseas with my new 50mm lens. I’m hoping to go shopping for a compact flash for my trip but hopefully it doesn’t have to eat into my shopping budget! A compact flash will be great for low lighting days and shots that need a little more light. Besides the flash, I may go shopping for a zoom lens for landscape shots but that would mean another $500 at least for a 18mm – 200mm VR!

who minds a free laptop?

For whatever reason, I wasn’t very taken by the new MacBook Air though it is now the world’s thinnest notebook. Perhaps I’m worried that it may break into two if I have to stuff it inside my luggage or perhaps, it looks too fragile for someone quite careless like me.

The Sony Vaio has to one of the dream lightweight notebooks I desire. The cheapest range costs around $1,500, with a 14.1″ screen and weighs about 2.5kg. This thin and light mobile masterpiece features an array of entertainment and design extras, including a built-in web cam, AV controls, intense cutting-edge technologies and a comfortable, easy-to-clean keyboard.

But seriously, if I do live in the US, I would check out this opportunity to grab a free laptop. I know it sounds like a scam but getting a free laptop is definitely possible if you take time to read through the free laptop program conditions. I suppose there is nothing to lose especially if you do need a lightweight laptop badly and can’t afford to own it for personal reasons. The Sony VAIO® Laptop utilizes power and portability. It allows you the freedom to watch movies and listen to music as well. Participate now to get yours FREE*. You can’t go wrong.

i bought a crumpler camera bag

For the last one week or so, I’ve been busy exploring and experimenting on my Nikon D80, my first DSLR camera. As a beginner, there is so much to learn in digital photography. I’m glad to have a ‘free’ model for my practice – my four year old!

This afternoon, my hubby and I went shopping for some technology stuff. While he shopped for his HDMI switch, I was all geared out for a camera bag for my Nikon D80. I chose a Crumpler camera bag for its good padded interiors and its lightweight material. Crumpler is a popular choice among photographers, outdoor seekers and laptops users, particularly Apple users. Available in several sizes and limited range of colours, Crumpler camera bags are affordable, simple in design and provide various carrying options. You can sling it on your shouders, hand carry it or strap across your body. If you like a camera bag with more storage options, choose a backpack design. Great for outdoor photography and those who want to travel hands free. (pictures coming – network is too slow for adding photos at the time of this posting) Here’s a review video of the Nikon D80:
