fashion talk and shopping on the weekends
It was hard to stop myself from visiting the All Dressed Up store last weekend since it was having a storewide discount of 30%. Not so long ago, I spotted a coral peach top that flattered my autumn-spring skintone. I didn’t buy it since I wasn’t sure if I was going to pay around $300 for a blouse, especially after doing my monthly budget with our new budgeting software. But since it was on sale in the store, I couldn’t resist trying it again.
Guess what? Instead of the coral peach top, I walked out of the shop with a muted gold wax linen skirt. I fell in love with the colour… it was just the right shade of gold and made a versatile piece of any occasion – dress it up or down – it’s all up to me
It was love at first sight
I’m still a woman after all. One who finds it hard to turn away nice and stylish clothing. My hubby thinks I’m a fashion victim but I seriously don’t think so
I think I just happen to appreciate good style, nice fashion and tasteful creations.
marine charm of amanda jo
This piece of exquisite handmade Neptune Necklace has to be a wonderful find this morning. I had seen a sea urchin but didn’t know the shell could be out into such creative use. Jewelry designer Amanda Jo from North Shore, Sydney has so wonderfully crafted it into sterling silver. The lovely treasure of the ocean sits with a beautiful piece of paua shell and a sterling silver starfish pendant. You can see that the sea urchin has had minimal polishing to retain a natural look. I always like paua shell – the colours, tones and natural finish reflect so truly of the beauty of marine life. You can find more of Amanda’s collection at her website at http://www.artsconnect.com.au. I really like her ocean collection – the marine charm is just indescribable
I bought a bamboo tunic dress
I couldn’t resist the supersale items at Max Studio so after looking at the online catalog the last two days, I finally placed my orders! I was pleasantly surprised this green tunic top made of bamboo and french terry fabric and most of all, the blend of bamboo and soybean fibers make it eco-friendly. I’m a big fan of tunic dress which I often pair it with leggings or pants. I first spotted this dress at the Max Studio shop in Singapore but there wasn’t any left for my size. It felt really soft and comfy, casual, free-spirited and relaxed. Most of all, I didn’t have to pay the full price cos this item is on sale at 40% off at the online store. Woo hoo!
drop earrings and more
I can get very fussy when it comes to choosing a pair of earrings. Personally, I like to keep my earrings simple and elegant. Due to the hassle of removing and changing earrings, I have two pairs of diamond post earrings all year round. As much as I like drop earrings for special occasions, I don’t like those that are loud and overpowering in terms of style and design. For me, a simple Tiffany teardrop or semi-precious accents is more than enough to complement an evening dress or special dinner. Otherwise, I’ll keep my post earrings on if I can’t find anything to match with what I’m wearing.
This pair of Tiger Eye Circles at viv & ingrid caught my eye. I adore it for its simplicity and sophistication. Available in small and large circles, you can feel free to choose the size according to your liking. Also found in white jade, onyx and green jade too. Viv & Ingrid has a beautiful collection of necklaces, bracelets, bags, gifts and other kinds of accessories to entice the modern women who are obsessed with simple luxuries! Don’t miss out on their signature packaging which embraces their philosophy of “No Fabric Left Behind”.
versatile organic clothing
If you are like me – love versatility and can’t walk properly in tight skirt but still wanna be seen in a skirt on some occasions, then you gonna love this scrunch skirt from GaiaConceptions. Stumbled by chance, I like the collection by the designer plus they are made of organic cotton. I can imagine the softness and coolness of the fabric. Actually the scrunch ankle pant/skirt works as a pants as well as a skirt. Ooo… how nice. Designer Andrea will make each item to order based on your size and measurements. Order it at $95 (http://www.gaiaconceptions.com). This Closed Bubble Shrug is a cute one too. Nice for keeping me warm when I’m out for cruises. So free-spirited and relaxed!
