Shopping Deals for Family Fun this Summer
Ok. The H1N1 virus is spreading from country to country and it has been declared pandemic level since last month. As such, many families have canceled their summer vacation plans due to the fear that air travel may be a hassle. More people prefer to go shopping online since the pandemic started since people are advised to avoid crowded places.
I know summer is on and it’s hard to contain the kids at home. There are lots of activities in your local community and if that’s not enough, the Aero Family QuickPool is a great recreational option for the family to have fun together in the backyard. My five year old has been having fun in his inflated pool during those warmer days and we had a great time together splashing water and playing water games.
For more family fun, why not have some outdoor fun in the park with the Electric Scooter 131E with the kids. You can use this cool electric scooter for short commutes too – save some gas during these challenging economic times! Easy to carry and fold away, it is environmentally friendly and does not cause any air pollution. The kids will definitely prefer the Mini Electric Scooter (see below). Scooting together as a family is better than being couch potatoes in front of the television set, isn’t it? There are heaps of options if you go shopping online at the As Seen On TV site so keep looking.
Some other ways to keep kids occupied would be to get them involved in small family projects like painting the fence, organizing the toys, fix the lighting, clean the backyard…etc. Feel free to go shopping in the malls and markets if you need to. Just make sure you take the necessary precautionary health measures and do visit your family doctor is you are carrying any flu symptoms.
the hype about pilates, pilates classes and pilates dvd
I have always read discussions on the effectiveness of pilates and infact, I’ve been wanting to grab a pilates dvd so that I can work out from home. Pilates have garnered much attention lately in the press and has become immensely popular in the United States and Europe. Broadway and Hollywood stars like Madonna, Vanessa Williams, and Sharon Stone are reported to have participated in Pilates classes or bought some Mind-Body Fitness products or pilates dvds.
When Joseph Pilates developed his plan to condition bodies based on a series of poses held through deep breathing, it was to benefit his patients who were recovering from illnesses and injuries. During his development process he found out that Pilates strengthened the core of muscles that contain the abdominals, back, shoulders and pelvis.
Some critics have denied the claims by Pilates enthusiasts that using Pilates as a weight-loss program is effective. Many say that Pilates alone will not cause the participant to lose weight. He or she must diet and use some form of aerobic exercise to see dramatic results in weight loss. But, was weight loss Joseph Pilates intention, I wonder?
If you are just wanting to lose weight and quickly, maybe Pilates are not the best thing to be doing exclusive of other exercise programs. But, if you want to increase you flexibility, work on your balance, and strengthen your muscles without overdoing it, then Pilates may the the answer you have been looking for. And if that’s you, why not grab a pilates dvd to get started?
enjoy a magazine on a lazy weekend
A great way to relax on a lazy weekend is to cuddle up the couch and day bed and enjoy a nice read. I have to admit that I haven’t done much magazines shopping in the last few months. The only time I can afford to enjoy the ads and articles in a magazine is when we check in to a hotel room during our project. Since the summer break is offering a little space breather, it’s time to order a couple of good titles and pick some relaxing read again.
When it comes to magazines selection, most of us would pick one that matches our passion and interests. For instance, modern animal enthusiasts will find Animal Fair Magazine is a unique publication for animal lovers since the publication covers celebrities and their pets, along with general information regarding animal health, pet supplements, nutrition, grooming, and training. Available in 2-year subscriptions only.
Health and fitness fans will prefer a copy of Fitness while tech savvy ones would stock up their copy of PC World or Wired regularly. Click HERE for to SAVE on your Magazines subscription and you don’t have to miss your favourite issue.
outdoor fun with the kids
The weather has been less than perfect for us in the last week. While it’s sunshine for many folks, it’s been wet and humid for us. We make it a point to take our preschooler to the park every weekend. Living in the city doesn’t give us the luxury of space so we try to get out to a green surrounding every week.
I’m just waiting for that day when we have a private garden or spacious backyard so that we can create an outdoor play area for our kid. When we were touring Australia, Clayton had lots of fun at the outdoor playground and climbing apparatus. It felt nice to see him so happy, active and energetic and most importantly, we ourselves had great fun too! It promotes family bonding and this is better than spending many hours in front of the television. In time to come, I’ll love to look into one of these manfred mantis playsets. With two options to choose from – the mini and mega – you can pick the right one for your children, based on their age group.
