Go Shopping for Natural and Organic Products For Kids

Since becoming a mom more than five years ago, I have taken a keen interest in natural and organic skin care products for children. This gave me a good excuse to go shopping for new organic and natural skin care for my son. As he has mild eczema, I tend to try out new products that can help his condition.

Over the years, I have gathered a few of my personal favourites. I like to go shopping in the health stores and will pick up any good products to try. Some of my favourites include Thursday Plantation Tea tree oil from Australia. It is a fabulous antiseptic and I keep a bottle with me everywhere I go. It’s great for cuts, insect bites and wounds. The California Baby range from the US is my favorite too, particularly the calendula cream. It is calming and works well to heal the skin gently, especially if your child is suffering from an itch.

Another of my favourite is the Australian Lucas PaPaw Ointment made of pure paw paw. It is antiseptic and works well for any kind of rash, cuts, bruises, wounds, insect bites and even scalds. The other day, I scalded myself with a hot plate and the Lucas PaPaw ointment healed the bruised area gently and nicely. I strongly recommend that every mom keeps a tube of the Lucas PaPaw ointment in her bag.

I bought a tube for my cousin who had been on ephedra diet pill for a while and the ointment worked wonders for her little boy who had bad eczema rash last summer. The rash was caused by some chemicals present in the sunblock and her baby’s skin reacted to it badly.

Till I go shopping for more natural and organic skin care stuff, you can find Lucas PaPaw ointment in most Australian chemists and health stores. Otherwise, try searching them online for the nearest store that carries the product.

Go Shopping For Sunscreen

If you ask me what is one skin care product I can’t leave home without, it would be my sunscreen. Everytime I go shopping in the beauty department, I’ll watch out for new products that will help me get rid of those brown spots on my face. I have to say that I haven’t found a ‘miracle’ product so far, perhaps there isn’t at all.

Well, the thing is the major factor in our skin prematurely aging can be attributed to the sun.  The sun damage you see on your face today could have started over ten or twenty years ago. When it comes to sun damage prevention is much better than cure.

Here are some ways to prevent sun damage of your skin:

.  Wear a high protection factor sunscreen every day on the face, neck and dÈcolletage
.  Wear a hat whenever you are outside; even to hang out the washing (I know many of us don’t do that!)
.  Wear make-up that contains sunscreen (Mineral makeup contains natural sunscreen)
.  Try to remain in the shade whenever possible

Though the process of aging is a natural one which differs from one person to another, but we can do our part to slow down this aging process with the proper prevention methods and relevant natural skin care techniques.

And for my brown spots, some people are suggesting microdermabrasion treatment over a period of time. Then again, I still need to go shopping for the right ones before parting with my hard earned money :)

Go Shopping For the Must-Have Items For Your Make-Up Kit

All of us women who go shopping know that a trip to the make up store or cosmetics department can easily set us back hundreds of dollars. Well, if you invest on good beauty products that will make a positive difference in your appearance, then the money is considered well spent.  Similarly, when you stock up on beauty products that you don’t use because you realize you don’t need them or worse, they are bought out of impulse and they are the wrong beauty products for you!

Don’t feel bad about bad decisions when you go shopping, this happens to every one of us. When it comes to beauty products for women, there are some must-have items for your make-up kit.  The brand you choose will depend on your budget, your preferences and your skin type but the below will serve as your guideline for you when you go beauty shopping to avoid unnecessary make-up purchases.

1. Tinted moisturizer- Keeping your makeup simple is a good thing unless you’re going to a dinner party, a special invitation or a photo shoot. Purchase a good tinted moisturizer or a mineral foundation. Tinted moisturizers give your skin an even, clean, natural look.  It also gives you the added benefit of moisturizing your skin. Mineral foundation makeup offers your skin an even and natural coverage too.

2. Tweezers- there is nothing like clean brows to give your face an instant face-lift. With the right brow shape, your face can look young and clean. The best tweezers are relatively cheap so they will probably be the cheapest must-have in your make-up kit. Good tweezers can last you many years.

Don’t overpluck your eye brows as thinned eyebrows can instantly lead to an aging look! If you don’t have thick and bold eyebrows, take a look at the first and only cosmeceutical brow conditioner – LIBROW (see banner above). LiBrow contains a rich base of powerful vitamins, minerals, and proteins that were specifically blended to help stimulate and strengthen the coarse eyebrow hair.

Apply LiBrow Purified Eyebrow Stimulator daily to the skin in those areas where your eyebrows need the most help. Whether trying to restore eyebrow symmetry or just repair your eyebrows from well intentioned overplucking LiBrow will help dramatically. In weeks you will begin to notice the appearance of your eyebrow hair filling in nicely exactly where you need it most. In several months you will be shaping your eyebrows exactly the way you want.

3. Eyelash curler- Bright, clear, open eyes can make a big difference in a person’s look. Curled lashes help in showcasing beautiful eyes. Nothing is sexier than gorgeous, dramatic eyes. Now your own, real lashes are the ultimate accessory.

Don’t have thick, long lashes? Then take a look at Lilash – the world’s most powerful and fastest-acting eyelash conditioner (see left ad). It is a nonirritating formula and safe for even the most sensitive eyes. No wonder it has been a favorite of eyelash extension wearers who notice better support and less lash breakage.

While eye lash extensions are popular and attractive but what is detestable is the natural lash breakage. No lashes are no fun but with LiLash, your real lashes will be stronger and thicker and there is no fear of lash breakage.

4. Blush- Healthy flushed cheeks can make a person look absolutely gorgeous and can complete a person’s natural look. There are a number of blushes available in the market in different forms: powder, gel, pencil and others.  Some products even work as both cheek and lip tints.

5. Lipstick- Select a good shade of lipstick that can take you from day to night.  You can get several shades of lipstick because there are plenty of inexpensive brands available but you must have one lipstick shade that can work for all your outfits and for different occasions.

6. Eyeliner- eyeliners can be used to line eyelids or define eyebrows.  It can make your eyes look bigger or smaller depending on your preference.  Pencil eyeliners are great because they are inexpensive and they donít drip.

7. Lip gloss- for days when you don’t feel like wearing make-up but can not step out of the house looking unkempt, lip gloss can add an instant glow to your look.  Lip gloss are also great when you need to do quick touch ups.

8. Mascara- applying mascara can make a person look extra glamorous with very little effort. Invest in a good mascara to give your eyes an instant ‘lift’.  Mascaras are also great for when you want the more dramatic effect of smoky eyes. Try mineral mascara if you have sensitive eyes.

Ok for now, I’m back to my studying my conversion rate optimization and I trust that the above makeup selection tips can be most helpful when you go shopping this weekend!

It’s Ok to Go Shopping for Anti Aging When You Are Young

In a twinkle of an eye, we are already in the fourth month of the new year. Early this year, I set a few personal goals including taking up Pilates, learn swimming and go shopping less often!

Well, I have succeeded in these three goals so far and I’m determined to stick to them right to the end! Well, I still go shopping online for natural beauty goods, eco living clothing and jewelry but it’s just online window shopping for now. The economy hasn’t been that great so I’m cutting back on my shopping expenses now.

I know that the world of beauty is seldom affected by any financial setbacks as women will continue to spend on their looks no matter what. Yep, nothing is going to stop the women who set their minds to lose weight. So in bad times, diet pill business will continue to grow, so will beauty and cosmetics business.

Women will still go shopping for anti aging skin care and spend their last penny to prevent those wrinkles from becoming more significant and obvious. Don’t feel bad if you are still shopping for anti aging skin care to slow down aging skin but do learn to shop wisely. In fact, they say that anti aging skin care is not only for those 40 and over. Even if you are in your 20s, you should start on anti aging to protect your youthful skin from premature aging.

If you like me are ardent about natural skin care for anti aging, here are a few to look out for:

1) Sircuit Skin Secret Sauce Anti-Wrinkle Solution - It gives the benefits of Botox without the pain and it’s natural!

2) Sircuit Skin O.M.G.Skin Resuscitating Serum – It repairs and heals damaged skin, caused by the constant use of AHA products or other skin stressors. Ideal for aging, damaged skin.

3) Sophyto Skin Energising High Potency Concentrate - Skin will be protected against damaging environmental aggressors and the loss of moisture, which is one of the key factors of the aging process.

go shopping for natural organic hair and skin care

One of the things I enjoy is to go shopping for health and wellness magazines in the local bookstore.

Last weekend, I picked up an informative Natural Health and Organic magazine in Borders and had thoroughly enjoyed the wellness articles and wide range of natural and organic products being reviewed.

Do you know that alot of the make-up and body care products have been linked to allergic reactions, birth defects, and even cancer? When I first came across the term ‘Ugly Cosmetics’, I was initially humored. Then, I realized that this is more becoming a reality as we pile more chemicals on our skin and face. Some products may promise to get rid of blackhead acne but they may end up making things worse. In other words, we need to be real careful when we go shopping for beauty and personal care products!

When harmful chemicals are used in cosmetics, dangers draw nigh. These compounds are not trace contaminants. You will be surprised that they are base ingredients of the product, just as flour is an ingredient in bread. Many of these chemicals are found in personal care products and can penetrate the skin and some are ingested directly after they are applied to lips or hands.

Another category of chemicals that’s becoming the media highlight of late is parabens, short for “para hydroxybenzoate.” These preservatives are widely used in cosmetics, particularly nail polish. Recent studies have implicated parabens as being associated with breast cancer, though more testing is needed. How do you think we can be ignorant when we go shopping these days?

In the next post, I’ll talk about how many people are shopping naturally and becoming more informed when they go shopping for personal care and skin care products. For now, you can check out some healthy natural products if you have to go shopping for some natural organic hair and skin care products.
