fashion talk and shopping on the weekends

It was hard to stop myself from visiting the All Dressed Up store last weekend since it was having a storewide discount of 30%. Not so long ago, I spotted a coral peach top that flattered my autumn-spring skintone. I didn’t buy it since I wasn’t sure if I was going to pay around $300 for a blouse, especially after doing my monthly budget with our new budgeting software. But since it was on sale in the store, I couldn’t resist trying it again.

Guess what? Instead of the coral peach top, I walked out of the shop with a muted gold wax linen skirt. I fell in love with the colour… it was just the right shade of gold and made a versatile piece of any occasion – dress it up or down – it’s all up to me :) It was love at first sight :P I’m still a woman after all. One who finds it hard to turn away nice and stylish clothing. My hubby thinks I’m a fashion victim but I seriously don’t think so :P I think I just happen to appreciate good style, nice fashion and tasteful creations.

more gorgeous summer dresses

My mailbox has been bombarded with lots of fashion styles for summer. Summer dresses and more summer dresses everywhere! It’s hard to resist these bright, cheerful, stylish and gorgeous dresses. Though sweet pink isn’t my colour, I can pick a muted or light spring green, yellow or orange – and yes, those are the colours for the autumn person. MaxStudio.com has lots of new summer dresses added to their online collection. They are just so hard to resist… if you are checking the site out – be warned – keep your credit cards out of sight!

being a woman is lots of fun!

I love being a woman. At least, my wardrobe is not just made up of pants and shirts. I can choose from blouses to skirts to pants to dresses to shorts. And within each of these categories, there are so many styles and designs to choose from.

When a woman shops for a top or dress, she is swamped with all sorts of styles! Sleeveless, collar, halter, ruffles, frills, laces, empire cut, low waist, loose, tight fitting – Gee! the list is endless! In other words, don’t get annoyed when a lady takes eight hours to find the perfect dress for that birthday party cos she is spoilt with choices with options too many! So, isn’t being a woman lots of fun? We can’t help being creative in our dressing style, can we?

flirty summer dresses and thong sandals

It’s summertime! It’s time to pull out the flirty dresses tugged underneath your wardrobe and give them a whirl! And if you like to give yourself an excuse to add a few summer dresses to your wardrobe, check out shopbop.com for new summer collections by various designers including Juicy Couture, Foley+Corinna and more. Summer dresses always pairs well with thong sandals and flats. This is the time where I wish I’m a couple inches taller :P Somehow, tall women or those with longer limbs tend to look extremely lovely in long summer dresses and flat thong sandals. Well, it’s just a complaint I have from time to time but I’m really thankful for the way God made me :)

accessories are a woman’s best friend

Accessories play a big part in a woman’s attire. Whether you are a lady who’s out for tea with your best friend, shopping alone with your toddler, a busy working woman with five meetings in a work day or a top level executive with too many evening functions to attend, you better learn the basic and art of accessorizing!

Paisley dreams from dawanda

Dressing up necklaces, earrings, bracelets, brooches or rings don’t have to be an expensive affair. All you need is to choose the right style and right accessories that match your attire and skin tone. Expensive and loud accessories may not be for all and be careful not to let your accessories steal the limelight from YOU. In other words, when people look at you, it should be YOU they are attracted to and not your accessories or your dress.

In any case, I always like a simple Tiffany necklace or pendant or a handmade silver necklace made of Swarovski crystals or gemstones. Otherwise, a pearl necklace is hard to go wrong if you choose the right pearl size, colour and design. Always remember: less is more so don’t overdo it.
