My husband often tells me that he can’t understand why women like to go shopping. Somehow, we seem to have an endless list of things to shop for – from beauty skin care to household items to fashion jewelry. When it comes to shopping for contemporary or fashion jewelry, I can never have enough. How many of us ladies stick to the same pair of earrings or have only one necklace? The answer is a resounding ‘no’!
There are so many different kinds of jewelry – Earrings, bracelets, rings, necklaces, gold or silver. Depending on your skin tone, you may look great in silver or gold. I used to regard silver as a more casual an affordable choice while gold, a more sophisticated and ‘upmarket’ adornment. But this is not true anymore. These days, silver can look just as sophisticated and gold, in return, can be casual and relaxed.
You can now shop online and be spoilt with plenty of choices in your jewelry shopping. Many of these online stores ship worldwide and have secure payment modes that protect the online shopper from any possible fraud. Men and women are finding it convenient and satisfying to buy their jewelry online, including white and yellow gold, sterling silver or titanium. There are also many stores that specialize in contemporary jewelry like beads, glass and other organic materials.
Whatever your heart desires, it is always interesting and a pleasure to go shopping for various styles and designs of jewelry, especially if it is worn in taste and in style.

Go Shopping at Great Singapore Sale
It always feels good to go shopping in Singapore, especially when the Great Singapore Sale is on! Yes, I was back for a few days as it is school holidays and it was a fruitful trip!
Initially, I didn’t think that the Great Singapore Sale was that great, maybe because I didn’t have enough time to visit many shops. As usual, I headed to Tangs to the lingerie department. This is always a good department to visit when the sale is on! I was rather glad to grab a couple of briefs from Elle at only S$6.90 and a nice Jockey under wired padded bra for S$16 – good stuff!
I finally got round to visit Dr Hauschka counter and saw the Regenerating Series for anti aging skin. I used to think that I won’t need anti aging skin products as yet but I thought it would be good to start the protection early. I replenished my tube of Dr.Hauschka Rejuvenating Mask and decided to try out the Regnerating Serum too. This activating serum works to firm mature skin and minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Red clover is known for its skin regenerating abilities and is an antioxidant-rich herb. Another nice trip was a visit to OnPedder. It turned out that the shop was having a 30% storewide with an additional 5% for VIP members and DBS credit card members. I was attracted to a pair of Chloe wedge shoes but couldn’t find one in my size 
Then came a pair of signature Valentino red bow flats but it was that comfortable. The lady was very helpful and showed me two pairs of metallic gold and silver Giuseppe Zanotti peep toes and they were lovely. I continued looking around and tried out others including Amaya and Marc by Marc Jacobs.
Out of curiosity, I picked up a pair of coral (infrarose) Repetto Ballerina, slipped it on and boy, I was so happy with it. With 30% and an additional 5%, it was a good buy for Repetto shoes cos it was so comfortable! I had to say goodbye to Camper for now cos the new designs are not so refreshing anymore. I finally walked out with a pair of silver Giuseppe Zanotti wedge shoes and the Repetto Ballerine Infrarose. The coral colored patent leather has a rainbow reflective color which is unique and very feminine. I’m never a big fan of ballerina shoes but this is one exception – I am geared for a good change!
So you see why I am so happy with my trip to Singapore… It is so easy to go shopping in Singapore – all thanks to the efficient transport system. I even managed to steal time to check out some desktops for my brother who is thinking of a new PC. The day ended with a nice salad at Canele… now I’m missing the chocolate fondant!
When Women Go Shopping and Indulge
Sometimes we women just love to indulge. We can go shopping all day in the mall and end up with loads of things or sometimes we just be just happy browsing and window shopping. And they also call this ‘retail therapy’.
For instance, our husbands or boyfriends may find it hard to understand why we need another pair of shoes or another tote bag. Why can’t we just stick to that same pair of sandals or same shoulder bag? I’m sure you have explained times and times again about different styles requiring different attire and accessories but still, they can’t seem to comprehend why we still need to go shopping for new shoes and bags.
So let’s get back to my earlier introductory statement on ‘indulgence’. Summer is here and you may feel like some simple indulgence on new beach flip flips or a new summer tote bag. Here are a couple of my online favorites:
1) Marc by Marc Jacobs Tote-ally Miss Marc
I have a couple of Marc by Marc Jacob bags and I have always like MJ for its simplicity, quality and modernity. Marc by Marc Jacob’s bags are rather affordable and you can always expect little surprises in every season. Here’s a review of the Marc by Marc Jacobs Tote-ally Miss Marc:
I’ve been dreaming of owning a Marc Jacobs bag for the longest time now. I own plenty of handbags and I have to say that this is one of my favorites! Although it’s only a fraction of the cost of my other bags, nothing matches Miss Marc’s whimsy and adorable outfits. The inside lining matches my MJ barette so that’s another plus. The only thing that you have to be cautious about is that it IS a natural canvas- so you have to baby it a bit more than you normally would. Also, Miss Marc is printed onto there so at some point- she will probably scuff off. I take exceptional care of my bags and sell handbags for a retailer so my bag is still in great condition. It’s definitely worth the extra care to own such a great bag though! I love it and wish I could own every single Miss Marc tote!
2) Women’s handbags: Orla Kiely Book Bag – Raspberry
I’ve always like Orla Kiely bags. Simple, functional, cheerful, chic and attractive. Their fabrics are unique and pretty, so nice that it’s hard to choose one from another. Great bag for walking to work!
This bag is larger than I expected, but that’s turned out to be a good thing. I’m using it on the days I have several things to carry to work: heels, food, wallet, phone, bottle of water and who knows what else. The bag is roomy enough to hold these things without being stuffed & bulky. I also like that it’s gotten me out of my purse + shopping bag full of stuff routine. I was worried about the handles since it seemed they should be a little longer, but it is not a problem at all. I’m small but can fit the handles over a medium coat without any problems.
So get ready this summer and start shopping for your beach wear and swim suits. I know some people are already working out in the gym to shed those extra pounds or trying out other weight loss methods like Decaslim. As both a nurse and the wife of a physician, I operated a dermatology practice within the Family Practice.
